On February 21, 2017, the Court approved the employment of Heller Draper as lead bankruptcy counsel for the official committee of unsecured creditors in the Louisiana Heart Hospital Cases.

 

On February 14, 2017, with the assistance of Heller Draper, the Louisiana Heart Hospital Cases were transferred from the District of Delaware to the Eastern District of Louisiana and Judge Jerry A. Brown.

 

On February 10, 2017, the official committee for unsecured creditors of LMCHH PCP, LLC and Louisiana Medical Center and Heart Hospital, LLC (“Louisiana Heart Hospital Cases”) selected Heller Draper as its bankruptcy counsel. The Louisiana Heart Hospital Cases are pending in the District of Delaware.

 

On December 30, 2016, Energy XXI Ltd and affiliates successful emerged from chapter 11 and the plan of reorganization went effective.

 

In December 2016, Warren Horn obtained a Summary Judgment dismissing a propane distributer from a fire related death case filed in Mississippi State Court where the represented client was the last remaining defendant after four other defendants had either settled or been dismissed on motion practice.

 

In October, 2016 Warren Horn obtained a Summary Judgment dismissing a Condominium Association client from a Class Action involving approximately 10 other defendant condo associations in a case alleging violations of the Louisiana Condominium Act, The FDCPA and Louisiana usery laws pending before the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.

 

On June 11, 2016, the official committee of unsecured creditors in the Energy XXI Ltd and affiliates, lead case number 16-31928, was authorized to retain Lathan and Watkins, LLP and Heller Draper as its co-counsel. The Committee also selected FTI Consulting, Inc. as its financial advisor. The bankruptcy cases are pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
